Minnows Squad
Minnows is our entry level squad designed for swimmers aged 7 to 11 who have achieved level 8 or equivalent in a learn to swim program and are interested in progressing to squad swimming.
Training consists of two sessions a week and fortnightly dives and turns practice.
Swimmers in minnows focus on drills and skill development in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and an introduction to butterfly. Once ready, swimmers in minnows are encouraged to gain valuable racing experience competing at monthly club nights.
Marlins Squad
Marlins swimmers are aged between 8 and 12 years old. These swimmers have a good foundation of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and are developing butterfly technique, and are displaying an interest in competitive swimming.
Training consists of three sessions a week and fortnightly dives and turns practice.
Swimmers in marlins squad are encouraged to participate in monthly club nights and target meets and strive to achieve junior state qualification times over the season.
Bronze squad
Our bronze squad is designed for swimmers aged 10 to 13 years old who have shown the commitment, technique development and coachability to progress with competitive swimming. Swimmers in bronze squad are expected to train 5 times a week and compete at target meets and monthly club nights.
Silver squad
Silver squad is designed for swimmers aged 12 to 15 who have shown an ability to perform at the state level and aspire to qualify for National Age Championships. Swimmers in silver are expected to commit to 6 sessions a week and compete in target meets throughout the season.
Gold Squad
Our Gold squad is for our high-performance athletes who have shown they can perform at the National Age Championships level. These swimmers are generally aged 13 to 20 years old and swim 8 sessions a week with additional strength and conditioning sessions. These athletes are expected to compete at target meets and Age Nationals.
Youth Squad
Our youth squad swimmers are aged 13 and above. This squad is for athletes who have the desire to train for open water, triathlon, surf club, school swimming and for athletes who have moved on from competitive swimming and want to continue to train. Swimmers in the youth squad need to be competent in all 4 strokes but primarily swim freestyle, and have the ability to train for 90 minutes.
